End of Year Card
Janaury 2016
I was commissioned by Taylor Design to illustrate the end of year/ holiday card for their client, Aurelius Capital Management. The brief was to create an image to go with a quote from Marcus Aurelius, the Roman Emperer from 161 - 180 AD. The quote's theme was about perservering through strife, and so I presented them with sketches of 5 different images representing this idea. They chose the oak tree and we went ahead to the final, which was printed on navy card stock with silver ink. Stephanie Baumer was the Art Director. Aurelius Capital Management do a year-end card every year and I was happy to hear that this was their all-time favorite.

The story follows the magical adventures of Maddy, a ten year old girl, who visits her Grandmere in the Louisiana bayou one summer. This is the second book I have had the pleasure of working on with Jewell Parker Rhodes and Little Brown. Thank you to Art Director, Tracy Shaw.

Boston Athenaeum Purchases Prints
August 2013

Historic works of art on paper form the core of their collection, but they also acquire contemporary works by New England artists. Many thanks to Catharina and the Athenaeum for this honor.
